In volatile markets we use some specific charting tools, referred to as technical analysis, to identify opportunities and risks within the market. On September 27th, we made a tactical decision to increase our clients’ position in large US companies based on information from the chart.
We know that market fluctuations are not particularly enjoyable for the typical investor, but the intelligent investor uses them to capitalize on opportunities. We tell our clients that if they are going to deal with market swings, they should at least try to get rewarded for it.
